Your journey to healing and balance starts here.
Hello and welcome! I’m so excited to share that I’m officially starting a blog for Sakalya Massage & Wellness, my massage therapy practice located right here along beautiful Provo River. This space will be a way for me to connect with you, my clients, friends, and community, and to share insights, wellness tips, and behind-the-scenes looks at the different healing modalities I offer.
At Sakalya Massage & Wellness, my goal is simple: to help you feel your best—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic tension, support during pregnancy, or just a peaceful escape from your busy routine, my practice is designed to create a safe, relaxing space where your body and soul can truly rest and heal.
Here’s a glimpse of what you can experience at Sakalya Massage!
Massage Therapy
Each session is tailored to your needs—whether you’re looking for deep-tissue work, gentle relaxation, or something in between. My focus is on helping you release tension, restore balance, and reconnect with your body.
My massages come in several different categories.
I offer Fix It sessions for those of you who are in pain or have a specific problem to work out and are open to using all the resources I have to get the job done. I often use dynamic cupping (a lighter form of cupping that moves over the tissues) and scraping, or body gua sha to help break up stagnation and allow your body to function optimally.
Relaxation massage is for those of you who want a more aesthetic experience. You might need to relieve some stress, just need some therapeutic touch, or maybe you’re a fan of a lighter massage. This option will leave you feeling relaxed, taken care of, and ready to either nap or take on the day.
Intuitive massage is another available option. In this type of session, we go in with the intention to release trapped emotions while I tune in intuitively to what you might need. We know the body keeps the score so this is a great opportunity to be intentional about helping the body let go of what it’s ready to release. This is essentially a somatic release that looks different every time. We might be doing deep breathing, we may be visualizing, or we might be getting a little more spiritual, aligning chakras, etc. Whatever you need to help you leave feeling lighter than when you came in.
I also offer Prenatal Massage. Expecting mothers deserve extra care and comfort. With top of the line Body Cushions to help you lay face down safely and comfortably, my prenatal massage sessions are designed to support your changing body, relieve discomfort, and promote relaxation for both you and your baby.
Add-ons
Hot Stone Therapy:
Smooth, heated stones melt away muscle stiffness and stress, promoting deep relaxation and improved circulation. It’s a beautiful way to unwind and ground yourself. Wonderful to add to any of the above massage options.
Cupping Therapy:
Using suction, cupping helps release muscle tension, increase blood flow, and encourage detoxification. It’s an ancient technique that leaves you feeling lighter and rejuvenated. Stationary cups are used in this add on and you may leave with some cupping mark souvenirs.
Hot Bamboo:
This technique uses warm bamboo rods to smooth out the tension in the muscles and fascia. Appropriate for extra tight muscles.
Coming Soon:
Gua sha treatments! Gua sha, which is based in traditional Chinese medicine, is a wonderful way to promote a youthful vitality by allowing lymph to flow and breaking up stuck fascia in the face, neck, and head. This is done using a stone or other gua sha tool to guide stagnation away so it can be processed out. Sinuses can be treated using this technique as well, providing relief to allergy sufferers and those who suffer from sinus headaches. Accupoint for headaches and a whole gua sha protocol combining the two is also in the works!
